The challenge
Before eLocker, the department regularly spent hours tracking down equipment that hadn't been returned. Each unreturned taser or device meant search time, more admin and expensive replacements. As Deputy Chief Bart Tweedie puts it, the accountability eLocker provides has translated directly into saved hours and cost reductions for the agency.
Fast, simple installation
A standout was how easy the system was to install. With clear guidance from eLocker, the department's own staff largely handled it: setting up the eLocker Manager dashboard, connecting smart boxes to the network, meeting power and network requirements, then assembling, labelling and deploying the lockers with support from user guides and training calls. Naveed, eLocker's Solution Delivery Manager, supported the department through rollout, with the IT team assisting as needed.
“The install was really easy and plug and play. We provided clear guidance throughout, from setting up the dashboard to connecting smart boxes to the network. The department's IT team assisted as needed, but Mount Prospect staff largely handled the installation themselves.”
Training and support
eLocker provided hands-on training at every stage so the team was confident using the system: administrator and manager onboarding, end-user training for officers, and final readiness checks before launch. By the time the department went live, it was fully prepared to manage its equipment with ease.
The result
The department now has complete oversight of its tasers and devices, so it can quickly locate, deploy and maintain equipment and make sure officers have what they need when they need it. The visibility has saved countless hours and thousands in replacement costs.
“We now have complete visibility of our tasers and other devices. This level of control means we can quickly locate, deploy, and maintain equipment, ensuring officers have what they need when they need it.”
Commercial outcome
100% retention turns straight into hours back and replacement spend avoided
The uplift here is the spend that no longer happens. With equipment retention at 100% and zero kit lost since go-live, the department has stopped buying replacement tasers and devices, and recovered the hours staff used to spend tracking down unreturned kit, hours that go back into frontline work.
Annualised, that is replacement cost avoided plus recovered staff time.
“Since implementing eLocker, not a single piece of equipment has gone missing. It's saved us hours of work and thousands in replacement costs. It's truly a game-changer for our department.”
